What is BCAIRP?
BCAIRP is a provincial not-for-profit organization representing insolvency and restructuring professionals in British Columbia. Its general members are identified by the CIRP [Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional] certification mark, which is gained through a combination of study, work experience and licensing as a Trustee in Bankruptcy.
Skills of Members
CIRPs must complete a highly specialized three-year course of study, after successful completion of which the individual may apply for a license as a Trustee in Bankruptcy. The Trustee license is granted by Industry Canada, Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, following a successful completion of an Oral Board hearing.
Once licensed, CIRPs must adhere to a strict code of ethics, rules of conduct and standards of practice, which are enforced by a national association (CAIRP) and the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
All CIRPs have completed the BIA Insolvency Counsellors’ Course and most of their staff members are registered, qualified insolvency counselors.
Why Choose a CIRP?
Only CIRPs are trained and licensed to help individuals and businesses who are experiencing financial difficulty.
A CIRP will conduct an assessment of your financial situation and will advise you on a number of strategies for dealing with debt problems.
